Bio

Cori McDougald, formerly Cori Safe (hence the name - Safe Fitness), grew up Olympic weightlifting under the watchful eye of her father USA Weightlifting coach and instructor, Scott Safe.  At age ten, she decided to do her first weightlifting competition and fell in love with the sport from that point on.  She would take the bus to her dad’s old weightlifting equipment shop (Formerly Safe USA, Safe Strength) and make as much noise as possible with her 15lb kids bar and plexi glass plates in the back storage area.

Throughout childhood and adolescent years, Cori competed in Olympic weightlifting nationally, winning multiple schoolage and junior national championships.  She then competed in the 2004 Olympic Trials for Weightlifting.  From there, she started an Olympic weightlifting team while attending the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.  After graduating from college, she found herself training and coaching in Chicago.

Cori developed and ran Windy City CrossFit’s Olympic lifting program, which is where her love of individual program design sparked.  Cori completed OPEX (formerly OPT) CCP Program Design course and started training not only Olympic weightlifters, but also CrossFit athletes and members who wanted specific training for their goals.

Cori has experience training CrossFit athletes addressing needs of both Olympic weightlifting and energy system demands.  She also trains clients with a variety of goals such as fat loss, strength gain, mass gain, injury prevention and injury rehabilitation.  She particularly enjoys training female athletes, Olympic weightlifters, and CrossFit competitors.  She has coached weightlifters at the national and international level.

Personal Training Packages

Single Personal Training Session ($70)

Success Session/Assessment (60-90 min, $75)

Initial (or Follow Up) Assessment; health history, goal setting, body composition testing, movement assessment, and physical testing. Our setup for your success! This will be your initial intake appointment.

Kickstart Program ($910.00)

In the kickstart program, you'll workout 3 days per week for 4 weeks with two follow up sessions. You will learn what you need to do in the gym, gain healthy nutrition habits, and set yourself up for lifetime success.

Total Transformation Program ($1,320)

This program is intended for someone who needs a total lifestyle change. You will workout 5 days per week for 4 weeks, along with two follow up sessions, nutrition coaching, and lifestyle coaching. Learn the tools you need to implement lifelong changes.

Monthly Program Design Membership ($225/month)

Expertise

Programming for fat loss, strength gain, women's health and fitness, and "balanced fitness".  Utilization of dynamic and functional movements such as snatches, clean & jerks, kettlebell swings, squats, and pull ups.  Cori also tracks clients’ success by measuring body composition, girth measurements, movement assessment, and physical testing.

GET STARTED!

The first time you meet with Cori, you will be doing a Success Session, which is essentially a full consult and assessment.  During this session, you will do goal setting, medical history, body composition testing, nutritional assessment, movement assessment, and physical testing.  The Success Session will be repeated every 8 weeks to ensure you are getting the results you want.

Depending on your goals and package, we will schedule your sessions and begin training from there.  Please make sure you fill out a contract HERE before your first session.
