9/9/11 - It's been too long!
Hey guys!
Just wanted to give you a quick update as to what I have been up to. Some of you may or may not know that I decided to go back to school to persue my doctorate in physical therapy. Along with going to school, I am also the Olympic Weightlifting Coach at Windy City CrossFit! Feel free to follow our blog HERE or stop in to class at any time.
We have class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm and 7pm, Thursdays at 6pm and 7:30pm, and Saturdays at 9am. $20 for all you can eat olympic lifting!
I also returned to the platform a few weekends ago and qualified for the 2011 American Open which will be on Dec 2-4th in Mobile, Alabama. Here are some vidoes from my lifetime PR performances! Enjoy!

Olympic Lifting in Chicagoland!

A friend of mine wrote an article today about where to find olympic weightlifting in Chicagoland. Give it a read and you might recognize some of the names...

Windy City Crossfit in Chicago, IL. We are located in the Ravenswood/North Center neighborhood in a state of the art olympic weightlifting and CrossFit facility. Stacked with Eleiko bars and plates, Safe Strength squat racks, pull up cages the size of Texas, and of course, adequate chalk bowls.

The "Caveman" Diet
Good Morning Fitness Freaks!
Make sure you pick up a copy of the Red Eye this weekend as I get to say some things about eating Paleo - otherwise known as the "Caveman Diet". The diet is not necessarily for everyone, but the book is a good read. (Main book I followed during Paleo - The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf) It is always good to inform yourself on many different types of eating. I challenge you to read books and articles that you agree with, that you disagree with, and that seem far out. The more you know, the easier it is to find a nutritional program that will work for you.

Delicious Fish & Veggies Recipe

Personal Training Special

April 2011 Client of the Month!
What can I say? Sara has worked her tail off! Let me note a few things:
1. 10% Bodyfat lost since November 2010 (as in only 4 months ago...wow!)
2. Body age went down 10 years since November 2010.
3. Pushing through workouts with incredible determination!

As you can tell, we have renovated the Safe Fitness website! I hope you find the new and improved site much easier on the eyes. Please take a look around and check out the new page additions such as CrossFit and Olympic Lifting. These pages and services are brand new for Spring 2011!
